Key Responsibilities
- Lead the current electrical team in design, analysis, and consultancy on projects from concept through construction, including the production and management of deliverables such as drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Oversee contract documents, technical reviews, shop drawings, contractor coordination, and complete site visits as required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (CEC, ASHRAE, LEED, and the BC Building Code).
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and clients to deliver integrated engineering solutions.
- Lead client and stakeholder meetings, presenting technical recommendations and project updates.
- Support business development through proposal development and client relationship management.
- Mentor and oversee junior and intermediate staff.
- Contribute to team growth, hiring, and process improvements as the national electrical team expands.
- Availability for on-site visits as required, generally once every two weeks.
Qualifications
- Registered as a P.Eng. with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
- 10 + years of electrical design experience in building systems.
- Strong technical expertise in power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and emergency power systems.
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including CEC, BC Building Code (BCBC), and relevant CSA standards (LEED experience considered an asset).
- Proven leadership, project management, and client-facing experience.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD required.
- Experience with high-voltage systems or large-scale, complex projects is considered an asset.
