Drive workplace safety compliance for YORK1 through hazard identification, incident prevention, and employee training across GTA sites, offices, and remote work.
This full-time, permanent advisor partners with divisional management and Safety Teammates to strengthen internal responsibility for health and safety.
You will review project plans, support bids, participate in audits, and recommend initiatives that reduce workplace accidents and injuries.
The position combines field inspections with documentation and education.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify hazards through inspections, policies, and employee interviews
- Review project plans and safety documentation with divisional management
- Support safety documentation for Project Estimation bid submissions
- Plan and conduct orientations, WHMIS, and fall protection training
- Support audits, safety program development, and committee activities
Requirements
- Three or more years of experience in a similar position
- Valid CRSP designation or currently working toward it
- JHSC level 1 and 2 certification considered an asset
- Ability to influence workplace behavioral change regarding safety
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
