WSP’s Environmental Management business in British Columbia (BC) and Yukon is well established, with talented people, strong technical capabilities and trusted client relationships. We are now looking for a visionary and people-focused leader to build on that foundation and lead the business into its next phase of growth. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Earth & Environment, BC & Yukon, the Director will lead a multidisciplinary team working across contaminated sites, risk assessment, remediation, water, air quality, noise, and occupational health and safety.

The role carries accountability for the growth, performance, technical excellence and long-term health of the business. This is an opportunity to bring fresh vision and direction to an established business with significant potential. You will strengthen our core services while diversifying our clients, markets and service offerings, connecting capabilities across the team and positioning Environmental Management for sustainable, profitable growth.

You will create an environment where people feel connected, supported and empowered to do their best work, while setting clear expectations and building a culture of accountability, collaboration and technical excellence. Safety will be central to how you lead. You will champion a culture where people actively look out for one another and share a common commitment to ensuring everyone returns home safe at the end of each day.

As a key member of the BC & Yukon Earth & Environment leadership team, you will help shape regional strategy, build stronger connections across WSP and position Environmental Management as a trusted partner in solving our clients’ increasingly complex environmental challenges.

Your Impact

  • Set a clear and compelling vision for the BC & Yukon business, translating regional and national priorities into a focused strategy that drives performance, sustainable growth, and long-term success.
  • Build on established strengths while bringing fresh perspectives and identifying emerging trends, evolving client needs, and new opportunities across sectors, services, geographies, and client relationships.
  • Develop and execute growth strategies that strengthen WSP’s market presence, deepen client relationships, and position the business for its next phase of growth and diversification.
  • Lead the financial and operational performance of the business, including budgeting, revenue growth, profitability, utilization, forecasting, resource planning, and workforce deployment.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators that drive accountability, operational excellence, and informed decision‑making.
  • Provide executive oversight of project delivery, risk, commercial performance, contractual compliance, strategic initiatives, and key client opportunities.
  • Foster an inclusive, high‑performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, innovation, technical excellence, and professional growth.
  • Support recruitment, retention, succession planning, and the development of future leaders while promoting collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams, disciplines, and regions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, Indigenous communities, industry associations, regulatory agencies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate visible leadership in health, safety, environment, and quality, fostering a culture of proactive risk management, technical integrity, and responsible project delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements while championing continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to the overall direction and success of the BC & Yukon Earth & Environment business as a member of the regional leadership team.
