This Senior Manager leads the Highway and Municipal Roads design business in Ottawa. You will guide professionals, technicians, and support staff across MTO and municipal roads programs while reporting to the Senior Director of Highways & Roads. The position calls for complex design and construction experience, business development, effective communication, and management of competing priorities. Key Responsibilities:
Establish discipline strategies, budgets, goals, and objectives Manage workload, staffing levels, utilization, and resource sharing Support business improvement, growth initiatives, and change management Track career development plans, succession management, and staff retention Drive productivity, quality procedures, continual improvement, and client satisfaction Requirements:
Civil Engineering university degree Eligible for Ontario Professional Engineer licensing Minimum 15 years designing for Ontario municipalities and private clients Five-plus years managing and mentoring technical staff Strong negotiation, communication, customer relationship, and teamwork skills Use municipal roads engineering, staff development, workload management, and quality leadership to guide WSP’s Ottawa business.
