Apply ecological science and technical writing as an Intermediate Biologist supporting projects across Ontario. Work independently on moderately complex assignments.
At WSP, this Intermediate Biologist role supports environmental approvals, impact assessments, monitoring programs, and natural heritage work. You will develop defensible conclusions using field observations, agency requirements, policy direction, and analytical results. Work spans government, infrastructure, mining, energy, and municipal sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare technical reports, assessment documents, studies, and monitoring reports
- Design ecological studies, survey methods, timing, and scientific rationale
- Interpret data, sensitivities, effects, mitigation, and monitoring requirements
- Coordinate wildlife, wetland, vegetation, aquatic, or species-at-risk surveys
- Apply Ontario policy, guidance, and legislation to project work
Requirements:
- Degree in ecology, biology, environmental science, or related discipline
- Two to five years of relevant ecological experience
- Strong technical writing, scientific reasoning, and evidence evaluation skills
- Experience with ecological reports, assessments, monitoring, or permitting support
- Valid Ontario driver's licence and field travel availability
