We are looking for a Senior AI Developer to lead the design and delivery of AI features for our clients: intelligent assistants, document automation, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents and machine learning models in production. You will combine strong software engineering with practical AI judgement, and help shape how WiseMatic builds AI responsibly.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build production AI systems using large language models, RAG and agent frameworks
- Develop, evaluate and deploy machine learning models with measurable quality metrics
- Design evaluation pipelines, guardrails and human-review flows to keep AI accurate and safe
- Integrate AI into web and SaaS products through secure, well-documented APIs
- Advise clients on use cases, feasibility, cost and risk
- Mentor developers and set best practices for AI engineering at WiseMatic
Qualifications
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years building AI/ML or LLM-powered products in production
- Strong Python and experience with TypeScript/Node.js
- Hands‑on experience with LLM APIs, embeddings, vector databases and prompt engineering
- Solid understanding of ML fundamentals, evaluation and data privacy
- Experience deploying on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Preferred skills
- Fine‑tuning and model evaluation experience
- Knowledge of AI security risks such as prompt injection (OWASP LLM Top 10)
- Familiarity with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework or responsible AI practices
- MLOps tooling (MLflow, Weights & Biases, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Client‑facing consulting experience
