Support safe, clean schools as a Maintenance Custodian with the Wiikwemkoong Board of Education, using inspections and minor repair skills. This position is based at the Wiikwemkoong Board of Education.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Custodian supports Operations and Maintenance across WBE facilities. Duties include preventative maintenance, building inspections, grounds care, custodial services, and work order responses. The role helps maintain functional and welcoming learning environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect buildings, grounds, equipment, and facility systems routinely
- Complete preventative maintenance and minor repairs
- Respond to service requests and assigned work orders
- Maintain grounds, parking areas, walkways, and exterior spaces
- Perform cleaning, floor care, sanitation, and waste removal
Requirements:
- Ontario Secondary School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Valid Ontario Driver's Licence and satisfactory driver's abstract
- Experience in building maintenance, custodial services, or facilities operations
- Safe use of manual and power tools
- WHMIS and Standard First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
