Yukon Canoe & Kayak Club
The Yukon Canoe & Kayak Club (YCKC) is a registered non-profit that has been supporting the Yukon paddling community since 1961. In addition to a comprehensive recreation paddling programs, YCKC is also the Territorial Sport Organization for slalom and freestyle paddling in the Yukon.
Executive Director
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director provides administrative support and coordination for club operations. The role focuses on implementing Board-directed priorities and ensuring the smooth administration of club activities.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinating program registrations, scheduling, and logistics
- Supporting Board meetings and maintaining governance records
- Managing club communications, newsletters, and social media
- Coordinating grant applications and reporting requirements
- Maintaining records, compliance documentation, and partner communications
- Supporting financial administration in collaboration with the Treasurer
- Act a public representative for the organization, communicating our mission and cultivating strong relationships in the community.
- Part-time - approximately 20 hours per week with flexible schedule and seasonal variation
- Majority remote work with occasional in-person meetings
- Support and attend monthly Board meetings
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Experience with grant writing and reporting
- Comfort working independently and collaboratively with volunteers
- Proficiency with online communication and administrative tools
- Previous experience in the non-profit, recreation, or sport sector is considered an asset.
