Lead mining engineering and operations strategy for Wesdome from Toronto, hybrid, or remotely based in Quebec. Apply technical judgment across underground sites. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this director provides technical leadership and governance across Wesdome’s Eagle River and Kiena mines. The work covers integrated planning, operational execution, technical standards, reserve stewardship, and growth initiatives. You will support rock mechanics, ventilation, mine planning, drilling, blasting, and continuous improvement. The role also develops engineering capability through coaching and knowledge sharing across operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide mining engineering support across Wesdome mine sites
- Govern and improve the Wesdome Operating Model
- Develop annual budgets and life of mine plans
- Support reserve updates as Qualified Person when required
- Share best practices and mentor engineering personnel
Requirements:
- Mining Engineering degree; postgraduate education is an asset
- P.Eng. or equivalent professional designation required
- Minimum 10 years progressive mining leadership experience
- Strong underground mining technical expertise
- Knowledge of safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements
- Bring strategic leadership, underground mining expertise, and operational discipline to Wesdome’s engineering and operations mandate.
