Lead commercial underwriting programs and operations for WSI in hybrid North York, Toronto, supporting portfolio performance and reinsurance coordination. As Manager, Underwriting – Programs & Operations, you will lead underwriting, portfolio management, reinsurance coordination, and operational delivery. You will ensure programs meet approved appetite, authority, pricing, coverage, capacity, and reinsurance requirements. The role also supports sustainable, profitable performance. Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and develop underwriting and operations staff Make decisions on pricing, coverage, limits, and risk selection Manage portfolio performance, trends, concentrations, and corrective actions Coordinate facultative reinsurance and treaty-related activities Oversee onboarding, documentation, data exchange, and reporting Requirements:
Significant commercial underwriting experience involving programs or specialty business Experience exercising underwriting authority and managing commercial portfolios Knowledge of facultative and treaty reinsurance Experience leading teams and coordinating operational work Strong analytical, negotiation, decision-making, and communication skills Bring commercial underwriting, reinsurance, portfolio management, and operational leadership expertise to WSI’s programs division in Toronto.
