We’re partnering with a well-established Canadian luxury retailer to find a Vice President, Finance. If you hold a CPA designation and have 10–15 years of progressive, full-cycle accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role, this may be an opportunity for you.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the Vice President, Finance will take leadership of the company’s accounting and finance function — a highly visible, hands‑on role spanning luxury retail, wholesale, in‑house manufacturing, and a related real‑estate investment portfolio. This is a true player‑coach position: setting financial strategy while also rolling up their sleeves on the technical and transactional work of the business, and serving as a trusted partner to the CEO and leadership team who understands multi‑entity, multi‑level accounting.
The Vice President, Finance will lead a team of approximately six, including a Director of Finance, a Senior Accountant, and Accounts Payable staff, working closely with the company’s outside financial advisor, and will also coordinate personal financial planning and tax matters and provide oversight of related real estate holdings and investments.
The role is based full‑time in Cambridge, Ontario, with responsibility extending to the organization’s Montreal operations. The Vice President, Finance will own full leadership of the accounting and finance function across retail, wholesale, manufacturing, and real‑estate investment operations, managing banking relationships — including the company’s principal asset‑based lending facility and relationships across several additional lending partners — and overseeing cash management and treasury for a working‑capital‑intensive, inventory‑heavy business.
This includes leading the finance function through its ongoing ERP transition to NetSuite, building on the rollout already completed in Montreal and extending it to the Ontario stores. The role also partners directly with the CEO and leadership team on the financial implications of the company’s growth plans, brings a solutions‑first, technology‑forward mindset to process and reporting improvements, and supports multi‑level project and construction accounting tied to new store builds, leasehold improvements, and renovations.
