Lead IFRS 17 accounting for vehicle protection products at Volkswagen Financial Services in hybrid Pickering, supporting US and Canadian operations.
This Accounting Manager reports to the Senior Manager Corporate Accounting for VW Credit Canada, Inc. The role manages insurance accounting for Vehicle Service Contracts, GAP insurance, Lease Excess Wear charge waivers, and Tire and Wheel Protection. It supports IFRS 17 process and system changes, product launches, financial reporting, controls, and audits across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead accounting for vehicle protection products in US and Canada
- Manage IFRS 17 processes, data requirements, testing, and stabilization
- Prepare, reconcile, review, and approve monthly journal entries
- Lead internal and external audits and prepare IFRS statements
- Develop product accounting processes, guidelines, controls, and transition plans
Requirements:
- Ten years in financial accounting analysis and reporting
- Ten years of insurance accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or Finance
- Direct experience with extended service contracts or P&C insurance
- In-depth understanding of IFRS 17 requirements
