Use Xero, payroll, and VAT expertise as Vira Health’s Interim Senior Accountant, working remotely from the UK for up to two days weekly. Cover the day-to-day finance function during the Head of Finance’s maternity leave. You will maintain accurate books, coordinate payments, and deliver monthly numbers to leadership. The six-month contractor engagement starts in December 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Post transactions and reconcile multi-currency accounts in Xero
- Maintain accruals, prepayments, assets, and intercompany balances
- Process invoices, supplier payments, expenses, and payroll
- Prepare VAT returns and provide year-end information
- Produce management accounts and update cash-flow forecasts
Requirements:
- UK-based with the right to work in the UK
- Proven day-to-day finance experience in a senior capacity
- Strong Xero, VAT, PAYE payroll, and advanced Excel skills
- Comfortable using Claude and other AI tools daily
- Accurate, organised, independent, and clear with non-finance colleagues
- Bring independent finance leadership, Xero expertise, and clear reporting to Vira Health during this interim assignment.
