Ververica is the original creator of Apache Flink® and remains a core contributor to it.

Flink is the leading open-source engine for stream and batch processing.

It runs mission-critical workloads at Netflix, Alibaba, Amazon and Uber, as well as at banks, telcos and global enterprises.

We build Ververica Unified Streaming Data Platform, an enterprise-grade platform for real-time data on top of Flink.

Backed by one of the world's largest tech companies, we combine open-source innovation with long-term stability.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

We are hiring a Technical Account Manager (TAM) to be the technical lead for our customers across North and South America.

You will be their trusted advisor and hands‑on partner, from first deployment through long‑term production operations.

You will work with platform owners, data engineers and architects to design, run and scale their stream processing on Ververica Unified Streaming Data Platform.

Because you work in their time zone, you will be the person they reach first when something matters, during the sales process and after it.

When you are not with customers, you will deepen your Flink expertise, feed what you learn back into our products, and help grow the Flink community.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Own the technical relationship with a portfolio of enterprise customers in the Americas, from onboarding through renewal and expansion.
  • Guide customers in designing and optimizing their stream processing architecture on Ververica Unified Streaming Data Platform.
  • Advise on Flink job design, deployment models (on‑premises Kubernetes, public cloud, managed service, Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC)) and monitoring strategy.
  • Troubleshoot and tune pipelines, connectors and clusters, and identify weak spots in customer architectures before they cause incidents.
  • Lead incident triage and root cause analysis for your accounts, and build operational playbooks that help customers run Flink at scale.
  • Support migrations from legacy or batch‑based systems to real‑time processing.
  • Support pre‑sales with technical discovery, proofs of concept and architecture reviews alongside the Sales team.
  • Run regular check‑ins and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with strategic customers to align on goals, feedback and roadmap priorities.
  • Act as the customer's voice to Engineering and Product, and work with Sales and Marketing on account plans.
  • Hand over cleanly to EMEA colleagues so customers get continuous coverage across time zones.
  • Join the on‑call support rotation.
  • Represent Ververica in customer meetings and roadmap sessions and, if you like, at conferences and meetups.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 3+ years in a customer‑facing technical role such as TAM, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect or Support Engineer.
  • Hands‑on Kubernetes experience. Our product runs on Kubernetes, so this is essential.
  • Experience with at least one major public cloud (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud).
  • Ability to read and reason about Java code, working knowledge of Java 11+ and a basic understanding of the JVM.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, including querying streaming data.
  • Experience with distributed data processing or streaming systems such as Apache Flink, Apache Kafka, Apache Spark or Redpanda.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues under time pressure.
  • Ability to manage several accounts and projects at once, set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Clear written and spoken English. You are comfortable with both engineers and executives.

  • Familiarity with Dev Ops workflows and CI/CD tooling in cloud‑native environments.

This is a remote role for someone based between UTC-4 and UTC-7.

  • Your core hours follow your customers' business day in the Americas.
  • A few early mornings each week overlap with our EMEA team for handovers and escalations.
  • Occasional travel to customer sites and events, within North and South America.
