Build compelling 3D game levels at Velan Studios using greyboxing, prototyping, and visual storytelling across varied genres. This position is hybrid or onsite. Velan Studios seeks experienced Level Designers for multiple forthcoming titles entering production. You will drive critical design decisions while shaping layouts, mechanics, puzzles, missions, pacing, and gameplay challenges across projects. The role supports mid-level and senior candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shape level and mission content with directors and lead designers
- Own levels from prototypes through polished shippable content
- Greybox gameplay spaces, pacing, landmarks, and key moments
- Collaborate with environment artists and Gameplay Programmers
- Implement mechanics suited to environments and biomes
Requirements:
- Three or more years of design experience
- At least one shipped title as a level designer
- Experience blockouting gameplay spaces and establishing landmarks
- Ability to prototype gameplay ideas quickly
- Familiarity with Unity, Unreal, or equivalent engines
