As an Emergency Veterinary Assistant, you will support registered veterinary technicians and veterinarians in a 24/7 hospital.
You will assist with diagnostics, anesthesia, sedation, medication administration, and patient care.
The position offers guided training toward advanced responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and triage incoming patients toward appropriate care
- Assist with treatments, bloodwork, imaging, and catheter placement
- Support anesthesia, sedation, oxygen, and IV fluid cases
- Participate in patient rounds and maintain care continuity
- Learn CPR and become a RECOVER Certified Rescuer
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- One or more years as a veterinary assistant
- Basic computer and electronic medical record skills
- Excellent communication with pet parents and teams
- Availability for rotating nights, weekends, and holidays
