Lead inclusive weekend swimming lessons at Variety Village using Lifesaving Society standards, participant evaluation, and adaptive instruction. This fully on-site Scarborough position offers on-call, part-time contract scheduling.
As a Swim Instructor, you will provide direct leadership, instruction, and motivation to aquatic participants. You will develop lesson plans, maintain emergency procedure proficiency, and support safe learning. The position requires current certifications, strong communication, and organized administrative recordkeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver swimming lessons under Lifesaving Society program standards
- Develop core and daily aquatic lesson plans
- Evaluate participants weekly and complete final report cards
- Adapt instruction to individual abilities and needs
- Maintain Variety Village aquatic emergency procedure proficiency
Requirements:
- Availability Saturdays and Sundays for on-call shifts
- Valid National Lifeguard Pool and First Aid certifications
- Current Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor certification
- Minimum age fifteen and legal Canadian work eligibility
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
