As a Mental Health Worker with Island Health, you will provide treatment, rehabilitation, and support for persons with mental illness. The work includes responding to client needs, supporting self-care, and contributing to clinical services within program guidelines. You will help maintain dignity, safety, and self-respect.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with activities of daily living
- Report client conditions and medication reactions
- Escort clients to programs, appointments, and planned events
- Assess clients' ability to assume self-care responsibility
- Promote safe, healthy, non-threatening residential environments
Requirements:
- Diploma in Community Social Services or related field
- Two years recent related mental health experience
- Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation and relevant legislation
- Current Level C Basic Life Saving Certificate
- Valid Class 5 licence and Food Safe Certificate
