Join the Royal Jubilee Hospital team in Victoria, BC as a Histology-Pathology Technologist. This role focuses on high-quality laboratory services, performing histology and pathology procedures in a collaborative setting.
This full-time temporary position is centered around applying established histology and pathology laboratory procedures. You will report to the Supervisor or delegate, working closely with the Pathologist. Key skills required include effective communication, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently or in a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform grossing, processing, and embedding of histological samples
- Operate equipment for laboratory testing and procedures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Uphold safety and quality standards in laboratory services
- Communicate effectively with patients and staff
Requirements:
- Registration with the Canadian Alliance of Medical Laboratory Professionals
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology
- Recent experience in histology-pathology or equivalent
- Knowledge of laboratory legislation and procedures
- Strong critical thinking and conflict resolution skills
