Lead commercial property reporting and financial analysis for a 12-month contract serving assigned properties within the Greater Toronto Area.
This Property Accountant manages reporting, reconciliations, lease accounting, and recovery processes. The work covers commercial properties, including retail exposure, with Yardi, advanced Excel, budgeting, and forecasting supporting accurate decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements for commercial property portfolios
- Analyze NOI, CAPEX, variances, and balance sheet accounts
- Manage reconciliations, accruals, cash flow, HST, and balance sheets
- Administer leases, rent schedules, recoveries, deposits, and tenant improvements
- Prepare budgets, reforecasts, audits, and supporting documentation
Requirements:
- Two or more years of commercial property accounting experience
- Retail property exposure considered ideal
- Advanced Excel skills and Yardi experience strongly valued
- Strong analytical thinking and independent problem-solving abilities
- Current Greater Toronto Area residence and Canadian work authorization
