As a Class 1 On-Road Shifter, you will move tractor-trailers and company equipment between the Surrey Hub and an offsite yard. The position supports equipment availability while following safety and transportation regulations. Previous tractor-trailer, shifter, or yard operations experience is preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Class 1 tractor-trailers between designated Surrey locations
- Transport, stage, and reposition trailers according to dock plans
- Couple and uncouple trailers using established safety procedures
- Complete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip equipment inspections
- Report defects, damage, concerns, or operational delays promptly
Requirements:
- Valid Class 1 Driver's License required
- Meet local age and commercial vehicle operating requirements
- Previous tractor-trailer, shifter, or yard operations experience preferred
- Clean driving record and commitment to safety excellence
- Strong communication and organizational skills
