This role is ideal for caregivers fluent in Urdu or Hindi, as you will provide culturally and linguistically matched care to clients with specific preferences for language support and female caregivers.
About the Role
As a PSW, you will join the home care team working under Care Coordinator supervision, delivering personalized assistance tailored to each client's unique needs. Your work will directly improve quality of life for clients managing medical illnesses and age-related complications.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and hygiene assistance
- Prepare meals according to client dietary needs
- Perform light housekeeping and maintain safe living environments
- Accompany clients on outings and community engagement
- Assist with shopping and errands
- Administer medications and provide reminders
- Support mobility, ambulation, and transportation
- Offer companionship and emotional support
- Follow individualized care plans
- Maintain accurate documentation and charting
Qualifications
- Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent (foreign-trained nurses and nursing students welcome)
- Current CPR/First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
- Negative TB skin test or chest X-ray result
- Reliable transportation in Pickering territory
- Access to internet and mobile phone
- Fluency in Urdu or Hindi (preferred)
