We’re a Toronto Insurtech start‑up modernizing data for the global P&C Re/Insurance market. Post‑MVP and raising our pre‑seed, we need a senior engineer who can ship fast and own features end‑to‑end. Collectively, our team, advisors, and investors have held executive roles at major global insurers and at leading companies including SpaceX, Google, Snowflake, Salesforce, Citadel, Blackstone, and KKR.
What You’ll Do
- Build React (TypeScript) front‑ends and SpringBoot (Java 17) micro‑services on AWS
- Drive features from design to production, including tests and CI/CD
- Optimise data pipelines (PostgreSQL + Supabase) for scale, performance, and SOC2 compliance
- Collaborate closely with founders and data science to productionise ML models
- Shape our engineering culture and roadmap
What You Bring
- 5+ years building production apps with React and SpringBoot (or similar Java)
- Strong TypeScript, REST/GraphQL, relational DB, and cloud‑native skills
- Start‑up or small‑team experience; you prioritise and deliver with minimal spec
- CI/CD, Docker, and infrastructure‑as‑code fluency
- Must already live in Canada and not require sponsorship
- Bonus: insurance/fintech, SOC2, live near downtown Toronto
