Investigate and resolve commercial property and casualty claims with Trisura in Toronto’s Downtown hybrid workplace. Use critical thinking and policy expertise daily. This Claims Examiner position reports directly to the Vice President, Claims Specialty Insurance. You will manage first party and third party claims, assess coverage, review losses, and negotiate settlements within authority. The work includes communicating with insureds and claimants, coordinating independent adjusters, maintaining reserves, preparing coverage correspondence, and monitoring vendors. Commercial property claims experience is preferred, supported by a strong understanding of property policy wordings and coverage interpretation. Key Responsibilities:
Review documentation and interview insureds and claimants Retain and manage independent adjusters for field work Establish accurate reserves throughout each claim Prepare reservation and denial letters when required Authorize payments under company guidelines and authority levels Requirements:
Three to seven years of property claims adjusting experience Strong understanding of property policy wordings Excellent written and verbal communication skills High accuracy, organization, and attention to detail Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines Bring property adjusting, coverage interpretation, and communication strengths to Trisura’s commercial claims team serving Toronto.
