Service New Brunswick, the Department of Health, Horizon Health Network and Vitalité Health Network are partnering on Symbio, the province-wide transformational program, creating a unified and standardized electronic health record solution replacing fragmented paper charts and multiple unconnected systems.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: We require a Director (BA3) of Clinical Informatics to support the Symbio Program. High-level deliverables include:

  • Clinical Informatics Strategy and Workplan: Deliver a sustainable clinical informatics operating model and integrated workplan that enable transparent oversight of progress, risks and priorities.
  • Standardized and Localized Clinical Workflows: Achieve consistent provincial workflows with approved local variation that supports safe and effective care across all settings.
  • Physician and Clinician Engagement: Secure meaningful physician and clinician participation so frontline needs are reflected in program design and decisions.
  • Clinical Governance and Decision-Making: Enable timely, accountable and transparent decisions on clinical priorities, issues and escalations.
  • Informatics and Build Team Alignment: Ensure technical delivery accurately reflects approved clinical requirements, workflows and design decisions.
  • Validation, Testing and Release Readiness: Confirm clinical safety, solution quality and operational readiness before each release and cutover.
  • Patient Safety and Clinical Quality: Ensure solution design supports measurable improvements in patient safety, clinical quality and reliable care delivery.
  • Go-Live, Stabilization and Adoption: Achieve safe activation, rapid stabilization, sustained clinician adoption and continuous optimization.
  • Knowledge Transfer and Capability Development: Establish sustainable internal capability to lead, maintain and advance clinical informatics beyond the engagement.

The selected candidate will support the long-term sustainment of the Symbio Program by ensuring effective knowledge transfer and capability development among program personnel throughout the engagement. They will be expected to actively mentor and develop New Brunswick program personnel by sharing relevant skills and expertise in facilitation, processes, and documentation.
