Support exceptional library service at Oakville Public Library through reference expertise, digital literacy support, and engaging programming. This temporary part-time role is based at Central Library.
Reporting to branch leadership, the Customer Information Specialist provides customer service, branch services, outreach, and programming for diverse audiences. You will share knowledge of OPL collections, spaces, programs, services, technologies, policies, and procedures. The role also supports library operations and assumes in-charge duties when assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver proactive, customer-first service across branch interactions
- Provide personalized reference and readers' advisory services
- Support customers with current and emerging technologies
- Prepare and deliver inclusive library programs
- Assume in-charge duties and support smooth operations
Requirements:
- MLIS, library technician diploma, or equivalent library studies degree
- Minimum two years of related library work experience
- Experience with ILS, RFID, Microsoft Office, and technologies
- Excellent verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, collaborate, and adapt
