Lead instructional strategy and system improvement as Toronto District School Board’s inaugural Chief Education Officer in Toronto, Ontario. Advance achievement, success, and well-being for learners. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this executive leader will shape educational direction across approximately 235,000 students. The mandate includes curriculum implementation, instructional excellence, assessment practices, and system-wide improvement. The Chief Education Officer will collaborate with superintendents, principals, educators, students, families, and community partners. Key Responsibilities:
Lead instructional strategy and curriculum implementation across the TDSB Advance assessment practices and system-wide improvement initiatives Support student achievement, mental health, well-being, and special education Build organizational capacity and align priorities across diverse portfolios Develop senior leaders and strengthen community partnerships Requirements:
Ontario College of Teachers qualifications or equivalent professional standing Supervisory Officer’s Qualifications or commitment within two years Master’s degree in Education or related field Senior leadership experience in complex school or public-sector systems Expertise in curriculum, pedagogy, assessment, and system improvement Bring systems leadership, educational credibility, and relationship-building expertise to improve learning outcomes across Toronto’s public education system.
