Lead technical operations for IGNITE! Festival in Calgary, coordinating live performance venues, rehearsal schedules, and volunteer venue staff. Sage Theatre seeks a Technical Director for a fixed-term contract supporting IGNITE! Festival of Emerging Artists. This role oversees two performance venues and communicates with productions, artist series, and venue teams. It requires live performance experience, theatre lighting console and sound equipment knowledge, and strong communication. Key Responsibilities:
Oversee technical operations across two performance venues Supervise volunteer venue staff during festival activities Communicate between productions, artist series, and venues Coordinate rehearsal scheduling for productions and artist series Advise and mentor individual project designers Requirements:
Previous experience with live performance Experience motivating and supervising staff Experience with theatre lighting consoles and sound equipment Ability to work independently and self-motivate Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Bring live performance, venue coordination, and technical theatre experience to IGNITE!
