Recruitment and Onboarding Generalist in Kelowna

Manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding from the West Kelowna office, supporting operational hiring with responsive candidate communication. Some travel to the West Kootenays may be required.

As an HR Generalist with The Sutherland Group, you will coordinate recruitment, employee lifecycle administration, and onboarding activities. Your work will include candidate sourcing, HRIS and ATS use, employee records, and workforce reporting. The role supports multiple businesses across transportation, construction, forestry, environmental, mining, marine, and industrial services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage requisitions, postings, screening, interviews, references, offers, and pre-employment requirements
• Partner with Operations Leaders on workforce needs and hiring outcomes
• Coordinate onboarding documentation, orientation, training, and system access
• Track recruitment metrics, analyze trends, and provide workforce recommendations
• Maintain HR processes, employee records, systems, and documentation accurately

Requirements:

• Two or more years of recruitment and talent acquisition experience preferred
• Experience coordinating recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle activities
• Experience using HRIS, ATS, Microsoft Office, and related HR technologies
• Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
