The Public Relations Officer supports regional communications and community engagement for The Salvation Army Canada and Bermuda Territory. This role serves as divisional spokesperson while managing earned media, events, public affairs, and annual kettle campaign communications. It also supports organizational reputation and mission storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead media relations, releases, quotes, and public responses
- Direct crisis and disaster communications from updates through evaluation
- Develop earned media strategies and mission-driven stories
- Coordinate campaign, event, and disaster response communications
- Facilitate Advisory Board meetings, agendas, and minutes
Requirements:
- Three or four year bachelor degree in journalism, marketing, or public relations
- Minimum five years related writing, communications, web, or social media experience
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, WordPress, and publishing tools
- Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal English across communications platforms
