Apply powerline training to overhead and underground systems with Elexicon Energy in Ajax during the January to April 2027 work term.
This Powerline Technician Co-op Student position supports construction and maintenance of equipment energized from 120 volts to 44,000 volts. You will work with safe practices, measurement devices, switching equipment, and distribution systems. Five replacement openings are available in Ajax.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with overhead and underground line construction and maintenance
- Set foundations and install transformers and switching devices
- Operate or learn specialized line maintenance equipment
- Climb poles and structures to access distribution equipment
- Respond to outages, emergencies, and restoration assignments
Requirements:
- Complete Powerline Technician program Level 1 or Level 2
- Register as a Powerline Technician Apprentice with the Ministry
- Know Occupational Health and Safety Act and EUSA Rule Book
- Hold First Aid, CPR, and AED certification
- Possess a valid Ontario G or DZ driver's license
