We are currently looking for a

Communications Specialist at our Edmonton location.

What Moves You

  • You think carefully about who you’re writing for, what they need to feel, and what you want them to do, and that intentionality shows in everything you produce.
  • You’re energized by variety.

One day you’re crafting an internal employee update, the next you’re building a social media campaign or developing copy for a digital ad, and you bring the same care and creativity to all of it.

  • You’re a brand guardian at heart.

You notice when the tone drifts, when the message doesn’t quite land, and when something is technically correct but doesn’t sound like the company you’re representing.

  • You use data the way a good writer uses feedback, to learn what resonates, and continuously make your communications more effective.
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment where you’re working across teams, gathering information from stakeholders, and turning complex business priorities into clear and compelling content people actually want to read.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead social media content planning, creation, and execution across TDFG brands, developing a consistent, engaging presence that reflects each brand’s voice and drives meaningful audience engagement across all channels.
  • Create and coordinate employee communications across internal channels, keeping a geographically dispersed team of 600+ employees informed, connected, and engaged with the people, stories, and initiatives that matter to them.
  • Develop copy and messaging for digital advertising campaigns, websites, newsletters, email campaigns, and promotional materials, adapting tone and style to suit each audience and channel while maintaining a consistent brand voice throughout.
  • Monitor content performance and engagement metrics, translating insights into practical recommendations that strengthen communication strategies and improve how messages land with their intended audiences.
  • Support the planning, promotion, and execution of company events, employee engagement initiatives, and community activities, bringing the same attention to detail and creative thinking to communications that surround the moments that matter most to the organization.

What You’ll Bring

  • 3 to 5 years of communications experience backed by a post‑secondary degree or diploma in Communications, Journalism, or a related field, with a portfolio that demonstrates your ability to write clearly and compellingly across a range of formats and audiences.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with demonstrated experience in social media content creation, digital advertising copywriting, and brand storytelling that goes beyond surface‑level messaging.
  • The ability to adapt tone, style, and messaging fluidly across audiences, while keeping the brand voice consistent and recognizable throughout.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, competing deadlines, and shifting priorities without sacrificing accuracy, quality, or consistency.
  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact, comfort interpreting content performance metrics, and the interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments and build strong working relationships at every level of the organization.

What We Offer

  • Competitive wages and flexible benefits.
  • Our company RRSP matching program.
  • 50% off rentals at any of our Driving Force locations.
  • Learning and growth opportunities.
  • Paid vacation and wellness time.
  • We support your wellbeing through our Thrive wellness program.
  • We ‘Celebrate Great’ through our rewards and recognition programs.
