Climb trees professionally with Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada in Pickering, Ontario, using arboricultural skills and specialized equipment. This is full-time, year-round, on-site work.
As a Climbing Arborist, you will spend most days in the field and canopy, managing trees and vegetation hands-on. The work includes pruning, thinning, deadwood removal, and installing tree-support systems. You will also interact directly with the public while supporting safe, timely job completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prune, thin, and remove deadwood at varied canopy heights
- Install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems
- Maintain and operate chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts
- Assist with setup, debris removal, and site cleanup
- Follow Davey and industry safety policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Minimum one year of climbing experience
- Safely ascend tree canopies at all heights
- Hold certification or pursue Certified Arborist status
- Identify trees, knots, and shrubs accurately
- Lift and carry 50 pounds; hold a provincial driver's license
