The Accounting Clerk provides accurate, timely financial and administrative support within the County of Lambton's Public Health Services division. The work includes purchasing administration, reconciliation reports, purchasing card reviews, asset documentation, and procedural guidance. Transactions follow County policies, delegated authority, collective agreements, and financial control procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reconcile invoices with purchase requests, orders, and packing slips
- Process payables and code costs to general ledger accounts
- Prepare invoices, monitor payments, and send overdue notices
- Document deposits, balance batches, and prepare bank deposit slips
- Maintain records and provide reports for review and audits
Requirements:
- Three-year Diploma in Accounting
- One year of required experience
- Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Ability to verify approvals, coding, taxes, receipts, and documentation
- Physical ability to meet job and position requirements
