As Director, Product Taxation, you will advise senior leaders and collaborate across Product, Distribution, Legal, Compliance, Tax, Actuarial, and Financial Underwriting. You will translate complex legislation into practical recommendations supporting compliant, market-relevant insurance solutions. The role requires expertise in group products and investment fund taxation. Key Responsibilities:
Interpret legislation, regulations, court cases, treaties, and administrative tax positions Consult on product development, marketing materials, initiatives, and tax queries Assess risks and implement compliant tax solutions and corrective actions Analyze investment structures and fund product life cycles Guide colleagues and participate in industry committees and task forces Requirements:
CPA designation or equivalent education and experience Six to nine or more years of related experience Strong Canadian income tax and general tax knowledge Research skills applying complex legislation to factual situations Leadership, communication, analytical, critical thinking, and judgment skills Apply insurance taxation, product expertise, and strategic judgment as Director, Product Taxation supporting Canada Life’s Canadian business.
