Lead security, privacy, and compliance for DHDP while guiding SOC 2 Type II certification across Canada’s distributed research network. The Terry Fox Research Institute seeks an experienced Security & Compliance Lead for its Digital Health and Discovery Platform. Reporting to the National Director, you will lead governance, Canadian health privacy compliance, security architecture, and partner guidance. This full-time temporary position continues until September 2027. Key Responsibilities:
Lead the DHDP SOC 2 Type II certification program Maintain security governance frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures Own Canadian health privacy and data protection compliance Review Azure architecture, IAM, RBAC, and infrastructure-as-code Establish incident response and vulnerability management processes Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or related discipline Seven to ten years of progressive security or compliance experience Experience leading SOC 2 Type II certification programs Deep knowledge of Canadian healthcare privacy legislation Experience securing Microsoft Azure and cloud-native architectures Bring security leadership, privacy expertise, and SOC 2 certification experience to DHDP’s national health research network.
