Build scalable cloud infrastructure at Tempo as a Staff Platform Software Developer using Java, Kotlin, Kubernetes, and AWS. Work remotely in a global environment. This Staff Developer supports Tempo’s Platform Team across Timesheets, Capacity Planner, and Financial Manager for Jira Cloud. The work spans distributed systems, gRPC, messaging, caching, databases, and developer tooling. You will shape platform capabilities that support integrated products across the Atlassian ecosystem. Key Responsibilities:
Design platform infrastructure and shared libraries across multiple languages Maintain gRPC protocols and cross-language service bindings Build services for organization management and tenant data lifecycle Drive architecture, technical standards, and engineering best practices Improve tooling, documentation, observability, and developer self-service Requirements:
Eight-plus years of server-side development experience Strong Java or Kotlin expertise with distributed systems knowledge Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS services Proficiency in Go, Python, and TypeScript Experience mentoring engineers and driving technical initiatives Bring platform engineering leadership, cloud expertise, and developer experience focus to Tempo’s foundational software systems.
