Teknion Custom Solutions is a leading manufacturer of high-quality, custom wood office furniture.
We are looking for a reliable Beam Saw Operator to join our team.
This key role is responsible for making the initial rough cuts on sheet goods that allow our manufacturing line to keep moving.
- PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and interpret shop drawings and job instruction documents,
- Perform measurements with accuracy,
- Knowledge of and the ability to identify different building materials such as MDF, particle board, plastic laminate, and others,
- Examine materials for flaws and imperfections before processing to optimize material efficiency,
- Understand and perform machine operations: setup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and lockout,
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment,
- Employ safe and appropriate material handling and lifting techniques for wood furniture to prevent damage and injuries,
- Understand and consistently apply standard safety rules and procedures.
- PREREQUISITES
- High school diploma or equivalent; OR at least 3-5 years of experience as a machine operator in a wood shop or manufacturing environment,
- Energetic and enthusiastic attitude, thriving in a collaborative team,
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills,
- Approaches work with a high degree of organization, safety and attention to detail,
- Must be able to organize workload and prioritize activities based on key responsibilities,
- Communicates effectively in English, both in writing and verbally.
