This Engineer-in-Training role supports TC Energy's Automation Operations Engineering team within Canada Operations Technical Support. You will work with engineers, field specialists, and technicians across PLCs, HMI/SCADA, instrumentation, industrial networks, cybersecurity, and data systems. Your work supports compressor and measurement facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose PLC, HMI, instrumentation, communications, and control system issues
- Develop, test, and implement automation software changes
- Participate in control system testing, commissioning, and root-cause investigations
- Analyze data for recurring failures and reliability concerns
- Support automation risk assessments and lifecycle improvements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, Software, or related engineering
- Registered or eligible for APEGA Engineer-in-Training registration
- One to four years of relevant engineering experience
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and engineering fundamentals
- Interest in automation, controls, instrumentation, programming, or Operational Technology
