Support daily living, personal care, and behavioral needs as a Residence Worker at Giant's Head Resource in Summerland, BC.
Taproot Community Support Services seeks a Residence Worker for its residential program supporting people with diverse abilities. Under supervision, you will help meet physical, emotional, social, educational, and medical needs. The work includes life skills training, accurate reporting, individual plans, and community participation. This permanent part-time schedule offers 16 hours weekly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 0800 to 1600.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with feeding, transfers, hygiene, grooming, and toileting
- Provide life skills training, including meals, housekeeping, and personal care
- Implement personal service plans and document program progress
- Administer medication according to established policies and procedures
- Transport residents safely to appointments, shopping, and leisure activities
Requirements:
- Experience with person-centred and trauma informed practice
- Training and experience working with neurodiverse people served
- Valid British Columbia driver's licence and clean driver's abstract
- Valid CPR/First Aid and WHMIS certificates, or ability to obtain
- Positive behaviour supports experience and ability to stay alert
