Lead railway design management for SYSTRA Canada in Toronto, coordinating technical strategies, project controls, and multidisciplinary infrastructure delivery. This permanent Design Manager position supports SYSTRA Canada’s Transit division during project development and implementation. You will coordinate design activities, oversee deliverables, monitor progress, and manage risks across heavy passenger rail transit projects. The work connects construction methodology, railway infrastructure integration, schedules, budgets, and stakeholder communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver technical strategies and support Technical Management Office activities
- Coordinate design development with project managers and multidisciplinary teams
- Review plans and documents supporting pre-construction coordination
- Monitor milestones, project status, risks, issues, and critical paths
- Resolve conflicts and recommend corrective or contingency measures
Requirements:
- Degree in applied science, engineering, or related discipline
- Minimum eight years’ project management experience in heavy passenger rail
- Experience with design, construction, and assurance in brownfield environments
- Knowledge of railway infrastructure and related construction projects
