Associate Counsel in Vancouver

We are seeking an Associate Counsel with 3+ years of legal experience in British Columbia, focusing on corporate law, commercial law, and/or real estate law. The ideal candidate will have an established independent practice and an existing book of clients, with the opportunity to operate independently while leveraging the firm's infrastructure, administrative support, and legal resources.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage and grow an established legal practice and client portfolio.
• Handle matters involving corporate law, commercial law, and/or real estate law.
• Maintain client relationships and provide ongoing legal advice and representation.
• Leverage the firm's legal support staff, including corporate and real estate paralegals.
• Collaborate with colleagues and access mentorship and professional support as needed.
• Develop business and expand the client base with the support of the firm's marketing resources.
• Manage practice operations while benefiting from administrative, technological, and IT support.
• Potentially bring an existing employee or support staff member into the arrangement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience practising law in British Columbia.
• Practice experience in corporate law, commercial law, and/or real estate law.
• Must have an established independent practice and existing book of clients.
• Strong client relationship management and business development skills.
• Ability to operate independently while working collaboratively within a close-knit team.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in growing an independent practice.
• Interest in reducing administrative responsibilities by leveraging established firm resources.
