Overview
We are seeking an experienced Grant Writer to identify and secure Alberta provincial and federal funding opportunities that support research, innovation, manufacturing expansion, commercialization, and business growth.
The successful candidate will have strong experience working with startups and growth‑stage companies, along with a proven track record of preparing successful grant applications.
What can you expect to do
- Research relevant provincial and federal grant programs.
- Assess funding eligibility and recommend priority opportunities.
- Prepare clear, persuasive, and compliant grant applications.
- Coordinate supporting information, budgets, timelines, and project plans.
- Track application deadlines, reporting requirements, and follow-up activities.
- Work closely with management and technical teams to translate business and R&D activities into strong funding proposals.
- Maintain an organized pipeline of current and upcoming funding opportunities.
What we are looking for
- Minimum 3 years of grant‑writing experience with startups or growth‑stage companies.
- Demonstrated success in securing government or innovation funding.
- Strong knowledge of Alberta and federal grant programs.
- Excellent research, writing, editing, and project‑management skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
- Experience with manufacturing, research, technology, cosmetics, or consumer products is considered an asset.
