Registered Practical Nurse - Hemodialysis - Regular Part-Time 2026-18139 in Toronto

Summary of Duties

The RPN is responsible for initiation, monitoring and discontinuation of hemodialysis treatments of in-centre patients. As a member of the inter‑professional team providing person-centered care, the RPN will complete patient assessments, health teaching & family counselling, documentation, set-up/monitoring & trouble shooting of hemodialysis machines and respond to rapid changes in the patient’s hemodynamic status within the scope of practice for a hemodialysis RPN in partnership with the RNs. The RPN will play an active role in the unit on quality improvement/research project teams.

Qualifications/Skills

• Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Current B.C.L.S. Certificate required
• 1 year current hemodialysis experience required
• 2 yaear acute care experience preferred
• 1 year Gambro Artis hemodialysis machine use preferred
• Post-graduate course in Nephrology or willingness to complete the advanced training and education within 1 year of being hired
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong team building and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent patient assessment skills
• Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
• Commitment to person-centred care concepts principles along with demonstrated ability to work as a member of an inter‑professional team
