Lead In Situ facilities development and business cases from Suncor’s Calgary head office, applying engineering judgment to major growth projects. As a Development Engineer, you will shape Suncor’s In Situ growth portfolio, including Firebag expansion, Lewis, and future opportunities. The work integrates facilities, subsurface, execution, operations, regulatory, and commercial inputs. You will guide decisions through concept selection, Design Basis Memorandum, and FEED stages. Key Responsibilities:
Lead facilities and business case development for In Situ growth projects Own Design Basis Memoranda through project stages and change control Lead multifunctional planning, evaluation, and decision recommendations Integrate costs, schedules, production, and risks into economic evaluations Coordinate stakeholders and oversee external EPC contractor deliverables Requirements:
Professional Engineer registered or eligible with APEGA At least 12 years in development, engineering, or major projects Five years directly working on In Situ assets In-depth knowledge of SAGD CPF facilities and infrastructure Experience developing DBMs, business cases, and financial evaluations Apply facilities engineering, portfolio integration, and business case expertise to advance Suncor’s In Situ growth projects from Calgary.
