We have an opportunity for Driver/Receptionists to join our Out of Hours service on a permanent contract.
What is the role?
You will be driving clinicians to and from patient home visits ensuring appointment slots are met, and patients receive communication if there are any delays. You will be responsible for ensuring the car is ready for your shift, loading essential supplies, conducting internal and external checks for damage and cleanliness. You will work on reception at our bases, using the system to ‘arrive’ patients, print letters, record patient interactions and other admin tasks and stock control. Supporting patients/carers and clinical staff when needed such as acting as chaperone or assisting when needed with home visits. Working to a range of protocols and procedures and completing mandatory training designed to support you in your role and adhere to health, safety and governance requirements.
You’ll be a valuable part of our Urgent Care Service providing the Out of Hours face‑to‑face Service in Suffolk. This service is delivered by Suffolk GP Federation – we are a not‑for‑profit, community interest company and our main purpose is to support Primary Care across Suffolk, including support with working collaboratively and at scale. We also deliver other NHS services across Suffolk and North East Essex, including Podiatry, Ultrasound and ADHD.
Is it for me?
We will work alongside successful candidates to ensure they are sufficiently inducted and trained; there will be regular contact and support. It is important to us that you feel safe and supported in the role.
In order to be successful in this role, you will need:
- A full, clean UK driving licence, with minimum three year’s experience and undergo a driving assessment.
- Good admin and IT skills – or the confidence to learn, as you will be using our patient system, SharePoint information system, phone Apps and our SAT Nav home visiting system.
- The ability to remain calm at times of pressure and have good time keeping skills.
- Good communication skills as you will be meeting members of the public as well as working with the Out Of Hours team.
If you have worked within the healthcare sector before as a driver or receptionist this would be an advantage to your application, but is not essential.
Contract type: Average 20 hours per week over 4 weeks.
What we can offer you:
- A strong ethos of flexible working, to help us maintain (or reclaim) that work/life balance.
- 27 days annual leave rising to 29 after 5 years service (pro rata for part time hours).
- Innovative teams who strive in forward thinking, with a voice that is heard.
- A visible and supportive management team, with operational support that ‘get it’.
- Excellent IT teams & support giving us first class equipment and ‘no wait’ responses.
- A commitment to personal development, training, and leadership opportunities, with service-managed training budgets.
- Annual benchmarking of pay structure.
- Blue light card employer – Access to the discount service with thousands of discounts online and on the high street.
