Working under classroom teacher direction, you will support students with diverse needs alongside teachers and educational assistants. The work focuses on social-emotional skills, self-regulation, positive behaviours, and classroom participation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Observe, assess, and document student behaviours and safety needs
- Support classroom activities and learning routines
- Teach life skills and social-emotional strategies
- Build trust through meaningful interactions and activities
- Intervene during crises using therapeutic behaviour management
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Child and Youth Care or Social Work
- Child and Youth Care diploma may be considered
- Two or more years' related experience
- Knowledge of addiction, mental health, and child development
- Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required
