Lead metallurgy and tailings operations at Touquoy mine near Middle Musquodoboit, Nova Scotia, with responsibility for safety, compliance, and production performance. Atlantic Operations, a St Barbara Limited subsidiary, seeks a full time, permanent Senior Metallurgist reporting to the Site Manager. The position oversees metallurgical performance, tailings management, offsite assay laboratory work, and operational support across Atlantic Operations. It combines technical leadership with systematic problem solving and decision making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead safe work practices and investigate safety and health concerns
- Maintain SOPs, risk assessments, training, and departmental compliance
- Manage TMF OMS, OPRP, and EPRP documentation
- Produce daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual metallurgical balances
- Optimize metallurgical KPIs and support production targets
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in metallurgy, materials, chemical, or related engineering
- Nova Scotia Professional Engineer registration or immediate eligibility
- Project Management Professional designation
- Eight years’ industrial experience and seven years’ progressive leadership
- Experience interpreting metallurgical test work and solving problems systematically
