Lead renewable electrical engineering oversight from Edmonton, reviewing solar and wind designs while guiding high-voltage systems and interconnection compliance. This senior engineering assignment supports utility-scale projects across the USA and Canada. You will manage EPC engineering packages, evaluate substations and PV or wind plants, and provide technical leadership throughout development, design, construction, commissioning, and closeout. The work includes regulatory coordination and design risk evaluation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review EPC IFR and IFC engineering packages for compliance
- Assess substations, PV plants, protection, grounding, and relay coordination
- Coordinate MV and HV equipment integration across project designs
- Support interconnection documentation for ERCOT, FERC, and NERC
- Provide technical guidance through construction, testing, and commissioning
Requirements:
- 10+ years electrical engineering design and commissioning experience
- At least three years in renewable energy projects
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering
- Professional Engineer designation with APEGA or equivalent eligibility
- Valid driver’s license and verified motor vehicle check
