The Director of Care leads clinical programs and resident-centred services at a long-term care home. You will oversee registered nurses, registered practical nurses and personal support workers while directing care planning, quality improvement and compliance. The role also connects with Ministry representatives, inspectors, residents and families on care-related matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead nursing and personal care services across the home
- Direct resident care planning, reviews and revisions
- Ensure compliance with Ontario long-term care legislation
- Recruit, schedule and supervise nursing staff
- Oversee infection prevention, medication and wound care programs
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Five years clinical experience, including two years leadership
- Knowledge of Ontario long-term care legislation and resident rights
- Current BLS or CPR certification
- Satisfactory vulnerable sector police reference check
